What we mean by carrier-grade
The term is doing a lot of unpaid work
"Carrier-grade" appears on every wholesale voice website, including this one. It is worth saying what we mean by it, in terms that can be checked.
Availability
99.99% measured on rolling twelve months, on signalling availability at the session border controller — not on a control panel being reachable. Credits are automatic and appear on the next invoice without you asking.
Latency
Median post-dial delay under 50 ms across premium routes. Published per route in the portal, sampled every minute, including the periods we would rather you did not see.
Redundancy
Five SBC regions behind a single anycast hostname. Losing a region is a routing event, not an incident you hear about.
The part that is not a number
Someone answers. The network operations centre is staffed continuously, and escalation reaches an engineer who can change routing rather than a queue that files a ticket. This is the hardest one to prove in advance, which is why we would rather you called the number before you signed anything.
